The Rapid Prototyping and Micro Manufacturing Collaborative Pilot Project seeks to address and solve a significant gap in the small-scale design and manufacture of electronic products that enable scaleups/startups to rapid prototype and micro manufacture in the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region. Historically, there have been cost, margin, and labour barriers to achieving this domestically and internationally. However, as one of Australia’s most innovative regions (one of the highest number of patents per capita), this new cooperative model aims to activate the cost-effective and time-efficient small-scale manufacture of innovative products to assist participating companies in achieving scale.
